Childrens Church New Set of Lessons: Gods Amazing Creations

The Childrens Church has began a new set of lessons, titled God's Amazing Creations. We just recently finished the set of lessons themed My Friend Jesus and the children learned so much about how God is always there for us, how we can serve God and how we can share about Christ with others.

As we approach this new lesson theme, God's Amazing Creations we are very excited to explore with the children the many different things that God created and explain to them that God has created all things. These lessons are broken up into parts to explore the seven days of creation and the theme is one that will hopefully keep each child interested in what is being taught. There are many topics of discussion as well as activities planned for this theme. This definitely will bring up some interesting discussions and activities.

We are excited to explore the seven days of creation together as a class, as together we learn great things!

Memorial Service

Since Memorial Day is on May 31st we will be holding a Memorial Service the Sunday prior to Memorial Day on May 30th. Please turn in any names of loved ones you would like read during this service to Sister Sue before this date.

Spring Cleaning

Our Church will be doing its Spring Cleaning where all of the Members pitch in and help clean on May 15th beginning around 9AM.

Gospel Singing for Food Drive: Groups Listed

A few weeks ago, we posted about our plans to hold a Gospel Singing and a food drive. At that time we were creating a list of groups to sing at this service, and promised to list them on our website once they became available. We now have the list available. The service will be at our Church on April 24th at 6PM.

Second Sunday Evening Services to Begin Sunday, April 11th!

REMINDER: Sunday Evening Worship Service to begin this Sunday, April 11th at 6PM.

As Christians and as His people, we have much to praise God for. We should praise Him everyday of our lives from sunrise to sunset. We will begin a Sunday Evening Service (which will be held every second Sunday) beginning the second Sunday of April (April 11th) at 6PM.

Easter Sunday Reminders!

Easter Sunrise Service begins at 6AM and breakfast will be served.
There will be no Sunday School this day due to Easter Sunrise Service.
Sunday Worship Service will begin at the regularly scheduled time of 11AM.
Treat bags will be handed out to the children so anyone wanting to bring a bag of candy to add to the treat bags can do so on Sunday.

We hope that you and your family will join us as we celebrate the resurrection of Christ on this Sunday, April 4th.

Gospel Singing and Food Drive!

How great would it be to help others and worship at the same time?!? Well we have set an evening aside to do just that! On April 24th at 6PM, we will be having a Gospel Singing as well as a Food Drive held at our Church. To help with the food drive just bring non-perishable items with you to the singing. The food will be given to the food bank. We hope to see you at this wonderful service and please pray for its success!!

On Valentines Day we had a Love for Christ Valentines party for the Childrens Church. We read and discuss various verses from The Bible about love and had all kinds of goodies to snack on. :)

A Children's Church Update

Our Children's Church program is going great and God is blessing us to be able to teach the children involved in our program lessons that are broken up at the level that they may understand. Each lesson also has a project that relates to the lesson and the children are learning a lot of wonderful things! We have also started sending out a newsletter every first Sunday to the parents of the children in our program. These newsletters help the parents to stay updated better on what is going on in our section of the Church. By reading the newsletters you will be able to find out what your child/children has learned over the previous month and any events, etc. that our program is going to have in the upcoming month.

In February we learned about how we can be fishermen of men, the baptism of Jesus, and even Jesus being tempted.

We have a lot of great things planned for March as well, including: a Water into Wine lesson, a lesson on faith, and a lot more!!

If you are visiting our website, and don't have a Church to call your home, we would love to have you visit our Church and even bring your child/children along as well. Children's Church is every Sunday morning at the time of the regular Sunday worship.

For those parents who already have a child/children attending our program, thank you for allowing your child/children to be a part of our program and please know that they are truly a blessing to us!!

Bible Study Begins March 17th!

We will be starting back studying in The Word during a regular Wednesday night Bible Study which will take place each Wednesday evening at 7PM. Please join us!!

Sister Sue was given this photo by someone who knew a person that took this photo. They apparently stopped at the Church upon seeing the view (notice the rainbow) and took this photo. The person who took the photo didn't know anyone who belongs to our Church, but found someone who knew some of our Members in order to pass the photo along to us.

Remembering and Helping Haiti

The Children's Church at Mountain View Freedom of Worship has decided to come together with a Mountain Mission plan to help those affected by the terrible earthquake in Haiti. The children of our Children's Church are currently setting forth to do a fundraiser to help in raising money to go to those who need our help in Haiti. Not only will our children be able to help those in need, but they also will be able to learn such an important lesson with giving. They will be able to see the importance of giving to others and also be able to see how many great things can be accomplished when a Church works together to get the job done! Most of all, we need to keep those affected by the earthquake in Haiti in our prayers each and every day. Let us not forget to help out in whatever way we can (financially or otherwise) to those affected by this terrible time. Most of all, prayer is the number one source for help. Please also pray for those who are trying to help those affected.

A Cheerful Giving Update

"Thank you", "You helping me and my children is greatly appreciated", "Thank you, it has been such a tough year", and even "If it hadn't been for you all helping us with these gifts, my children wouldn't have any gifts to open on Christmas morning" were just a few of the comments we heard from those who we were able to help with this project.

Members from our Church decided to try to reach a goal of helping eighty children (forty underprivileged children in the Dickenson as well as Russell County areas). Our Members helped greatly by purchasing items for forty children in the Dickenson county areas and then also with the stocking stuffers for each county and then there were even three bags of stuffed animals that were given to help out with this project. Sister Jessica's Mom, Shelia Taylor also sewed each of the stockings for all eighty children and then we wrote the names of each child on their stockings.

Even better...we were able to help in spreading The Gospel by placing pocket sized New Testament Bibles in each of the stockings as well as a flyer inviting each recipient to our Church.

Here are a few photos of the project results and we just want to say how we Praise GOD for the wonderful success that resulted for this project!! It was a true blessing to help others!!

In Memory of Brother Robert and Sister Ann Baker

We wanted to take a spot here just to say how much our brother (Robert Baker) will truly be missed. Brother Robert went home to be with the Lord on November 3, 2009. Our brother was very active in our Church and you could count on him to be present at any Church events, whether it be a New Years Eve Watch Service or an Easter Sunday Sunrise Service, Brother Robert was always there. Always a smiling face, Brother Robert always filled his seat in the House of God at our Sunday Service as well as Wednesday night Bible Studies. The knowledge Brother Robert had in the Bible helped many (young and old) christians to understand The Word even better. Brother Robert was a strong Christian and was loved by many. He will be dearly missed, but we know and trust he is at peace with God!

Our Sister Ann Baker (the wife to Robert) also went home to be with the Lord a few years prior to our brother, but she also was very active in our Church and loved dearly. From singing in the Church's choir (and even the well loved song Inside the Gates) to attending regular services and special Church events, she also was a very active member in our Church. She loved and was loved by many and we miss our sister dearly!

Both, our brother and sister are missed greatly, but again, we know and trust they are at peace with the Lord!

New Years Eve Watch Service

We just wanted to take a moment to let everyone know what a GREAT time the kids are having in the Children's Church that our Church has recently started up.

They have been learning a lot of neat things including making a Train of Creation (which tells us what God created), the Rainbow of Rainbows which taught us about God's promise to never flood the Earth again, an Angel's Pumpkin Patch, and even more pumpkins! :)

We are very blessed to have some wonderful ministers to bring God's Word to our congregation. There are many ministers who visit our Church to preach the Gospel as well as our regular ministers, which include:

Pastor Larry Younce preaches the Gospel regularly at our Church. We thank God for our pastor and pray that God continues to bless him while he obediently does work for the Lord.

Tim Mullins is a minister at our Church and preaches the Gospel regularly. He is a very active member of our Church and we feel very blessed to have Brother Tim as a member and a minister of our Church.

Doug Mullins also preaches often at our Church.

Christmas is just around the corner and what better way to celebrate Christ's birth than to give to another?

Our Church is happy to be able to help the local and surrounding area children who may not have the privilege of receiving any Christmas gifts. These children are not self-referred and have been approved to be on the list of children who will be a part of this project by a variety of sources who have the knowledge in regards to their income.

Our goal is to help eighty children from the Dickenson and Russell county areas who may not have the option of receiving gifts otherwise and we're counting on the help of others to assist us in achieving this goal! It is our hopes to provide these kids with Christmas gifts and show them Christ's love through giving.

Here is how you can help!

Our Church has more detailed information in regards to first names, clothing sizes, etc. of each individual child and if you would like to purchase gifts for a child individually then please contact us and let us know and we will be happy to provide you with the information necessary to do so.

If you are only interested in purchasing a few items (in which no individual needs to be specified) that will also be a great help (we have posted a list below of the items we are in need of for these kids).

Either way, whether you plan to give to an individual child or you plan to purchase just a few items for any of the kids then we will have our Church doors open for people to drop off items on Thursday, December 10, 2009 from 6PM-10PM and on Friday, December 11, 2009 from 6PM-9PM. If neither of these dates will work for you please contact us and we will make arrangements in which to collect the items.

If the items you purchase are for a specified child from our list then please either wrap the items and label the gifts with the child's name OR place the items in a bag with the child's name on the bag. You also may include yours as well as your family's name to let the child know the gifts are from you.

Items needed for some of the children on our list are:

Stocking stuffers (such as candy, play dough, small toys, art supplies, etc.)

Bake Sale for Area Nursing Home Residents!

We are happy to help out the residents at an area nursing home, Heritage Hall. There will be a bake sale held on October 9, 2009 in which all proceeds will go to help the residents (in regards to items such as clothing, etc.). The bake sale will take place at the Family Dollar store and afterwards Members from our Church will go and purchase items for the nursing home residents.

Most importantly, pray that the Lord will bless us with this bake sale so that we may give back to some of those who have given so much to our community!

Bible Study

Children's Church

Our Children's Church program is targeted toward the younger generation to help them in better understanding God's Word. Each week we try to have educational material prepared in a simple way for the children to better be able to understand it. We even take the more complex material and break it into smaller sections when required so we can better explain the content to our students. Along with each lesson we have some fun activity, craft, or some other type of fun assignment that relates to what is being learned.

Children's Church is every Sunday during the regular Sunday Worship Service. We invite you to bring your child/children to attend!

Larry and his wife, Sue are also active in a singing group, The Younce Family. Sue teaches Sunday School class for the

They both love the Lord greatly and praise Him for His many blessings!

How We Began

Our Church used to be a convenience store and we started out in a two room (the chapel and bathroom) building. The Lord then blessed us to build onto our Church and now we have a chapel, pastor's office, sunday school rooms, kitchen, fellowship hall, and restrooms.

How We Began

Our Church used to be a convenience store and we started out in a two room (the chapel and bathroom) building. The Lord then blessed us to build onto our Church and now we have a chapel, pastor's office, sunday school rooms, kitchen, fellowship hall, and restrooms.

We praise the Lord for blessing us!

What We Believe...

We believe that God is in the saving business. Jesus Christ died for our sins and rose again on the third day.One must be saved, born again, and walk the straight and narrow in order to reach the destination of Heaven.Our Church is a Non-Denominational Church filled with loving Christian people.
